About

A small shop with an uncommon portfolio.

Miller & Slay Woodworking is a family-owned cabinet shop, building furniture-grade custom work since 2003 from a private workshop in Morrow, Ohio.

Family-owned and operated, the shop has been run since 2003 by two longtime partners — Shane Slay and Dave Burgess, the Slay of the name still on the tools. It stays deliberately small, taking on one project at a time.

Colonial to contemporary

The shop builds furniture-grade custom cabinetry — kitchens most of all, and around them the projects that give the portfolio its character: wine cellars detailed like libraries, cabinetry shaped around aquarium systems, period work in figured wood and painted finishes, and built-ins drawn to the architecture of the room.

Some commissions arrive as an interior designer’s or builder’s plan; others start as a conversation and a sketch. Either way, the work is drawn per project, built in-house, and installed with the same care it was built with.

How we work

  • In-home consultations and project drawings
  • Collaboration with designers, builders, and specialists
  • One project at a time on the bench — quoted individually, never packaged

Much of the building and woodworking happens at a private workshop in Morrow, Ohio. The shop serves greater Cincinnati and the surrounding region, with distant commissions considered for select projects. There is no walk-in showroom; project meetings are arranged directly.
